Dental Bonding & Your Smile

Posted .

Has one of your teeth been damaged or discolored? Do you want a way to fix it that may be more affordable than some other options? We are thrilled to offer dental bonding, so named because the material used actually bonds with your tooth, to our patients to help restore their smile.

The material used for dental bonding is a composite resin that can be polished and shaped to appear like the teeth surrounding it. This form of therapy may often be used for cosmetic purposes since it can cover blemishes, close small gaps between teeth or to alter the shape of a tooth.

A guide can be used to help our dentist, Dr. Michael E. Kun, select a shade of resin that may match your tooth. Then, to prepare the tooth’s surface, he may etch your tooth, ever so slightly. A liquid that can help the bonding material stick can lightly coat the tooth. Then, the resin may be applied shaped, smoothed and hardened with a light or laser.
