Orthodontics and Invisalign

If you have always wanted a beautiful straight smile, but have not had the opportunity to have orthodontics, Dr. Kun in Whitehall, Pennsylvania can help you achieve the smile that you have always wanted.

With Dr. Kun’s modern orthodontic technology, you can straighten, uncrowd, or close gaps between your teeth faster and easier than ever before. One of the most modern and effective ways to make corrections to the appearance of you smile is with Invisalign clear braces.

Not everyone has the option of getting traditional braces to correct their smile. If you are a professional adult, traditional braces may detract from your job performance, making Invisalign braces a great option for you. However, if you are a parent looking for a way to correct your child’s smile, traditional braces may be a perfectly reasonable solution.

Invisalign works by slowly shifting the position of your teeth with a series of clear, plastic aligners. Invisalign aligners fit over your upper and lower teeth, systematically moving certain teeth with each new aligner, resulting in a beautiful, straight smile in about a year.

The invisalign process begins with an initial consultation. During the initial consultation, Dr. Kun will evaluate your teeth and determine if Invisalign will be right for the corrections you want to make. If you are an Invisalign candidate, Dr. Kun will take an impression of your current teeth.

This impression is then sent to Invisalign with specific instruction on how to correct your smile. Invisalign will then create a series of aligners and send them back to Dr. Kun’s Whitehall, Pennsylvania cosmetic dentistry studio.

During your Invisalign treatment, you will wear each aligner in the series for about two weeks before switching to the next aligner. One of the great things about invisalign aligners is that they are removable in addition to being almost invisible.

While you are correcting your smile with Invisalign, you will be able to remove your aligners so that you can brush your teeth, eat, and drink the foods and drinks you like. In order for Invisalign to be effective, you should wear your aligner for a minimum of 22 – 24 hours a day. Also, during your Invisalign treatment, be sure to go to all your dental visits so that Dr. Kun can make sure your smile is progressing correctly.

If you are interested in correcting your smile discretely, and you live in the Lehigh Valley area, contact Dr. Kun today to schedule your initial Invisalign consultation. Dr. Kun will be able to determine if Invisalign is right for. If you need more correction than Invisalign can provide, traditional orthodontics may be the option you want to consider.

Orthodontic Braces

Not everybody is a good candidate for Invisalign. If Dr. Kun determines that you need to wear traditional braces, he will explain the best way to do it and each component of the treatment.

No matter what condition your smile is in, or what needs to be done to give you straight teeth, Dr. Kun can devise a plan that will give you a smile you can be proud of. After your initial orthodontic consultation, Dr. Kun will make an appointment for you to return to have your braces fitted.

It takes only about an hour to put braces on each row of teeth, upper and lower. First, tooth surfaces are prepared, by etching bonding the brackets of the braces to the front surfaces of the teeth. After the brackets have been bonded in place, wires are attached to the brackets with small rubber bands.

With traditional orthodontics your smile will be transformed. If your teeth have also become a bit yellowed or stained over the years, you can have a tooth whitening treatment first, so that your final results will be even more stunning.

One way or another, your teeth can be beautifully aligned, so don’t wait. Contact Dr. Kun today to schedule an initial consultation. You can ask your questions and Dr. Kun will give you understandable answers. Call or email us today.
