Tooth Whitening Types

In-Office Tooth Whitening
During an in-office tooth whitening procedure, a special tooth whitening gel is applied to your teeth. Once applied, a special, high-intensity light is applied to the gel, activating the tooth whitening process, and providing dramatic results.
Crystals contained within the tooth whitening gel absorb the light's energy, allowing the enamel to better absorb them, eliminating stains and discoloration.
In-office tooth whitening is usually completed in a short visit over one or two hours, depending on the amount of whitening being done, and the results can be seen immediately.
At-Home Tooth Whitening
Tooth whitening can also be completed in the comfort of your own home. To do this, Dr. Kun will create trays, custom designed for your teeth, and he will provide you with prescription strength tooth whitening gel.
The bleaching gel is placed within the trays and the trays are then worn over the teeth for a small amount of time each day, or while you sleep at night. Tooth whitening performed at home is a more gradual process that usually takes about two weeks to complete.
Although tooth whitening is a safe, and relatively easy procedure, only a qualified cosmetic dentist can produce the natural looking results you desire.
